The best I was able to come up with was that Ms. Grant appears to write futuristic romance for old people in that there's nothing in it that might possibly cause the heart to race and thus cause a heart attack. It was a DNF for me, I didn't make it past the grocery store parking lot, so while I can't agree with your review (since I didn't read the whole book) I agree that the book didn't work.
